Neelam Punjani is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta and a nurse-scientist whose research focuses on adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health, digital health innovation, and the prevention of technology-facilitated sexual violence. Her work examines how young people, families, educators, and healthcare providers can be better supported through evidence-informed, culturally responsive, and technology-enabled approaches to health promotion.

Using community-based participatory research and co-design methodologies, Neelam collaborates with youth, parents, service providers, and community organizations to develop interventions that address online sexual risks, mental health challenges, and inequities experienced by immigrant, newcomer, and racialized populations. Her research has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Women and Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI), and other national funding agencies.

Neelam has published more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and her work has informed policy and practice nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of several national awards, including the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
