Geoffrey and Erika Bruce Postdoctoral Fellowship in Canadian Water Politics and Policy
The Bruce Postdoctoral Fellowship supports Canada鈥檚 future scholarly researchers and policy leaders to focus on critical water politics and policy topics. Candidates are committed to leading-edge scholarly and policy contributions through scholarly and policy publications and submissions, interdisciplinary and inter-institutional initiatives, contributions to public forums and discussions, and media commentary related to freshwater governance in Canada.

The establishment of the Bruce Postdoctoral Fellowship is a further commitment of Erika v.C. Bruce to support the next generation of Canada鈥檚 environment and freshwater policy leaders and practitioners.

$70 000 annually funding one postdoctoral project in Environment and Canadian Freshwater Policy including benefits plus a $5,000 research fund
Fellowship may be held for one (1) year
January 4, each year
Examples of eligible areas of research include (but are not limited to):
- climate change and water governance
- water, climate change, food, energy nexus
- geopolitical water issues
- transboundary water governance
- water innovation and sustainable industrial/commercial/agricultural water use
- water quality/quantity interface
- surface water/groundwater governance
- open water data and water security鈥�
- freshwater protection and sustainability
- innovation for sustainable municipal water use
- watershed governance and monitoring
- effects of urban development, diversion, transportation, etc.
- Indigenous leadership and engagement in water governance
- freshwater as a political, economic, social, cultural and strategic national resource.
Projects of an interdisciplinary and applied nature are welcome, although those with a predominantly science focus will be excluded.

- a CV/r茅sum茅
- copies of academic transcripts
- 2-page statement of qualifications, description of proposed applied policy research interests, and alignment with goals of the Bruce Postdoctoral Fellowship
- 3 letters of reference including contact information for referees.
