Student Diversity Self-ID

At 吃瓜直播 (TMU), all undergraduate and graduate students are asked to fill out the Student Diversity Self-ID after signing in to the student portal MyServiceHub. 

This data creates a picture of the diversity of students in an academic year and will help us track the success of students from equity-deserving groups. This data is used to help improve access to education and the experience of all students at TMU. 

The Diversity Self-ID Program counts people from six equity-deserving groups: women, racialized people, Black people, First Nations, Inuit and M茅tis Peoples, persons with disabilities and 2SLGBTQ+ people. Within each group, there is also a rich diversity. We ask students who identify in an equity group if they identify in specific racialized or Indigenous groups, categories of disability or specific sexual or gender identity groups.    

With self-identification, students choose how they identify

It is voluntary to self-identify and there is a "prefer not to answer/opt out" option for each question. Students may also update their responses at any time in MyServiceHub.

With the help of all members of our community, TMU will be successful in moving towards our goal of accessible and inclusive education for all.

Complete the Student Diversity Self-ID

  1. It鈥檚 easy! It takes about two minutes to complete.
  2. It鈥檚 confidential. Only authorized people will have access to your information, in accordance with the university鈥檚 privacy policy.
  3. It will help us see who鈥檚 here and who isn鈥檛, at the university and in specific faculties and programs.
  4. It will help improve access to the university and the experience of all students.
  5. Aggregated data will be published in regular reports and online in data visualizations, so we can track our progress.
