RAC pool

Swimmers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to hop in the water at the RAC pool. Join us for our daily lane swims or regular open swim time.

Build up your confidence in the water by joining swim lessons with our certified instructors, who provide guidance while teaching the fundamentals of swimming. Whether you want to take your first strokes, improve your technique, or just have fun in the water, the RAC pool is the place to be.

Aquatics Program Policies

Absence & Make-up Classes

  • In the event that classes are cancelled due to unexpected facility closure or Instructor unavailability (e.g. due to illness), we will make every effort to schedule make-up classes the same day and time on the week following the final scheduled class. (e.g. for an eight-week course, the make-up class would be the ninth week.) In the event this is not possible, the outstanding class(es) will be cancelled and participants will be provided with a discount code of commensurate value applicable toward future classes. No refund will be provided in this case.
  • In the event a participant must miss a class due to illness, we will make every effort to schedule a make-up class the same day and time on the week following the final scheduled class. (e.g. for an eight-week course, the make-up class would be the ninth week.) If this is not possible, no make-up class will be scheduled and no refund will be provided. Only one make-up class will be scheduled per course (e.g. if a participant misses three classes, they would only receive one make-up class).
  • Missed First Lesson: Participants must notify TMU Aquatics if they plan to miss the first lesson. Failure to inform TMU Aquatics within 24 hours after the missed lesson will result in automatic withdrawal from the program and refunded.

Class Changes and Cancellations

  • Class changes and cancellations can occur due to low enrollment as late as the day before the class begins.
  • Classes may be cancelled due to unexpected facility closure or Instructor unavailability (e.g. due to illness). This will be communicated via email from aquatics@torontomu.ca as promptly as possible.

Refunds

Visit our Refund Policies page for details on eligibility and the process for learn-to-swim programs.

Photo/Video Policy

To protect the privacy of our patrons, photographs, or video recordings may not be taken during any aquatic program. Rental or club groups may use this equipment provided they are the only ones in the facility.  For the purpose of facility promotion, any persons taking photos for newspapers, program guides, etc. must have approval from Athletics & Recreation leadership, as well as release forms for any and all swimmers involved.

Swim Attire Policy

Proper swim attire is required. Swim attire does not need to be a traditional swimsuit, but must be clean, provide adequate coverage for a public swimming environment, be free of tassels that may get pulled into filters, and must not put a user’s health at risk.

Swim Lessons

We welcome swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Lessons are taught by supportive and caring instructors that are trained to help you achieve your goals.

opens at the beginning of each semester (in September, January, and May).
